Crown Point Travel Baseball was developed to provide an
opportunity for an advanced level of baseball to be provided to the players in
Crown Point and the surrounding Northwest Indiana region. The program is
focused on advanced training and game play for those players with a higher
level of skills and the passion to continue to get better at the game of
baseball. We found that over the years, many players wanted to continue to
develop their skills in the off-season of spring and summer and to be able to travel
and play teams from other areas, by way of single games as well as tournaments,
some played locally and others around the Midwest region.
Our goal is to provide our players with the opportunity to become
the best type of baseball that they can be. We focus on fundamentals of the
game, situational baseball and push our players hard with practices starting in
January of each calendar year.
This level of baseball is different from our traditional
in-house format, there isn’t a guarantee as it pertains to playing time, or
shared time at specific positions. We assess each players skill and guide them
towards playing positions that best fit their skill format and ability.
We are not a “for profit” enterprise like many travel
programs you may have come to learn about in the NWI region, IL or
Indianapolis. We structure our fees based on the needs of the season, nothing
more. We have coaches who volunteer their time, and we outfit the players in
uniforms, and other accessories for the game. We rent the Crown Point Cal
Ripken indoor facilities and other indoor facilities in the winter and early
spring to practice. We pay to enter into
tournaments locally and regionally to continue to provide exposure for our
players to different teams and playing atmospheres. Fees are not set on a
season by season basis and determined by the coaches of each team dependent on
how often they enter tournaments, and where. There are overnight stays for
tournaments not tied to the league fee, when tournaments are scheduled not
within game day driving distances.
Travel baseball is not for everyone, it is an intense
workload for these players who are dedicated, and whose families are dedicated
to the time and fees that come with working to become elite baseball players.
We expect our players to be at all practices and tournaments and committed to
the program as a whole through the season. Seasons begin in January and
continue through the end of June.
Crown Point Travel Baseball is not limited to only residents
of Crown Point, we encourage anyone looking for a lower fee structure,
competitive playing environment with access to fields and indoor facilities to
come and play with us at Crown Point.
